About

Hello, thank you for being here!

My name is McKenzie McLeod and I am a 2022 grad of Penn State's Mechanical Engineering program. During my first year post-grad, I have identified key mindsets and skills that have set me on a track to achieve both my professional and personal goals. I am excited to share the skills I have acquired and the ones I have yet to learn. Let's go on this adventure of becoming well-rounded young professionals together and do Hot Engineer Sh*t!

The phrase "hot engineer sh*t" came from mindset discussions with my small group of women engineering friends during college. We encouraged each other to create a lifestyle that balanced high achievement with high enjoyment. During times in the semesters when coursework was hard to push through, we reminded ourselves of the end goal by saying our hype-up phrase, "doing our hot engineer sh*t". This phrase helped us stay motivated because we knew that once the hard work was passed, we were going to celebrate knowing all that we achieved. Being a "hot engineer" means you recognize the value of laying into the important work, having pride in how far you've come, and prioritizing the jimmies (see jimmies section of the blog) to create a well-rounded awesome life.
